NQcast40 – Singing Chickens

It’s a pinball summer on this episode of No Quarters, as we have no games to play and are left with no choice but to head south and check out Game Warp, a classic video game and pinball expo. You might have heard us talking about this in our last dozen or so episodes. Eventually we break down and play some “modern” games like Tony Hawk and Ticket to Ride, which is actually a board game. It’s our geezer-est episode yet! Get off our lawns and listen!

NQcast40 – Singing Chickens

First half!

  • Tony Hawk HD (Can’t wait for those DLC reverts! And more Extra Large Pegasii(?) music! And Brojectives!)
  • Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes (Superman may be a dick, but he’s awesome to play in this game!)
  • Front Mission Evolved (Rocket shoes and giant mechs and a dead dad and wait… Did you say Front Mission or Lost Planet?)
  • Syndicate (Electric macing and ripping out microchips is fun, but the co-op is HARD.)
  • Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon (Pure alien insect craziness, pure arcade game, pure not quite pure fun!)
  • Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light (It’s a pretty good puzzler! Where you shoot things! We also prove we are the opposite of experts on the Tomb Raider universe.)
  • Playstation Plus (Harlo subscribing to Plus leads to a big discussion about how Microsoft sucking has allowed Sony to fail upward in its online implementation.)
  • Game (Description.)

Second Half! (53:02)

  • Gamewarp 2 (We all celebrate the world of pinball and classic arcade games at Gamewarp in Orlando, FL. We talk about our favorite tables, which ones we’d own and how we’d all go down that scary road of pinball table ownership!)
  • Funspot (We answer Dave’s e-mail asking about taking his son to Funcom in New Hampshire. At what age do kids turn into cynics?)
  • Pinball Arcade DLC (We love the new tables! We just hope FarSight has learned from their mistakes. And Microsoft’s mistakes. Why does it cost money to patch a game, anyway?)
  • Pinball Hall of Fame (BJ destroys a bunch of wizard goals and is just a few goals short of all 1000 points. No jokes about it, that’s impressive!)
  • Eragon (Chuck fights dragons. Or are the eragons? Can you play as E.Honda?)
  • Assassin’s Creed Revelations (Harlo beats it and is ready to play AC3 now!)
  • Puzzle Quest 2 (Maki says just stick with PQ1. This one feels like a Flash game!)
  • Plants Vs Zombies (Maki can’t beat Endless Mode!)
  • Beijing Olympics 2008 (Chuck has already deleted it from his profile, if that gives you an idea of how good it is!)
  • The Price Is Right Decades 360 (Bet $3, Chuck! DO IT.)
  • Mobile Corner!
    • Ticket To Ride (It’s an analog board game! And an iPad game! And true to form, explaining the rules to parents every turn happens.)
    • Small World (Harlo plays the the board game with the robotic kids. And you pass the iPad to play it!.)
    • Jurassic Park Builder (Maki discovers it’s Farmville with a Jurassic Park skin! What a disappointment.)
    • Virtua Tennis 4 Vita (Harlo plays some portable tennis! And Buffalo Bills himself into the game!)
  • Pimp My Ride (BJ promises to finish this game. It’s in writing now!)
  • Dark Souls (Wait, BJ still has it!? Maki wants it back!)
