This month’s No Quarters is all about games. We talk about the new ending for Mass Effect 3 (mostly spoiler free), The Walking Dead Episode 2, pinballs galore including more hype for Game Warp in Orlando, FL, and then a whole bunch of garbage. Hey, it’s summer, there’s nothing to play.
NQcast39 – Sexual Nintendo
First half!
- The Walking Dead: Episode 2 (Continuing the long-running 2-episode tradition of this game being good! Well, other than your choices in the game, which are all HORRIBLE. In a good way!)
- Mass Effect 3: The Bettering (It’s better.)
- Pinball FX2: Marvel Avengers Chronicles (Norin Radd drops by to play some video pinball. They all have a unique mode, which helps offset wonky physicsness.)
- Pinball Arcade (Harlo & Maki are pinball wizards! And still hate Black Hole! Also, Vita and PS3 support is great!)
- Real Pinball Pilgrimages (BJ & Harlo take road trips to take on some real-life tables. Also, we actually explain the definition of “framp”!)
- Sniper Elite V2 (BJ does what an elite sniper does. Shoots dudes. Also, gets shot.)
- Call of Duty Black Ops (Maki beats it! On Veteran. He’s dumb. The story is pretty good, though!)
- Nail’d (It’s an arcade ATV rac’r! Listen to some Stain’d! DLC achievements nev’r unlock’d! It’s not goo’d!)
- Pimp My Ride (Chuck gets us all incredibly excited about GHOSTRIDING THE WHIP.)
Second Half! (1:09:37)
- Forza Motorsport 4 (BJ knocks out some racin’ before his computer dies. Or his car, from driving backwards. Shame the Porsche DLC costs so much!)
- Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit (Maki just can’t get into the driving in this game. Still. Most Wanted preorder cancelled!)
- Need For Speed: Most Wanted: Razor Callahan Edition (Maki & Chuck go back to race this arcadey FMV-ridden slice of ridiculousness. RAZOR!)
- Assassin’s Creed Revelations (Harlo gets WAY into training his assassins. Like too much. He’s also tosses coins like he’s in a canadian strip joint.)
- Puzzle Quest (Maki draws Harlo back into the massive investment of time required to complete Puzzle Quest. Just don’t call it Bejewled!)
- Final Fight: Double Impact (Guy just wants to beat up dudes. He’s a simple fellow, with simple needs. Also, Magic Sword is a REALLY long arcade game.)
- Fight Night Champion (“Singlehandedly, the best storyline in a sports game I have ever seen in my life.” -Chuck “I’m gonna get to punch this asshole in the face!” -also Chuck)
- Trials Evolution (We explore the user-created tracks and find a LOT of fun there. We also feel super-dumb trying to make our own levels.)
- E-mail Question from Ryan From Dallas (Name the hardest games we’ve beaten, and the hardest ones we’ve given up on! We name a lot of old games.)
- Amnesia: The Dark Descent (Harlo apparently doesn’t understand how to play this game. More self-preservation, less Mulder!)
- Diablo 3 (Whimsyshire is the only thing left Harlo can play solo in the game. He has reached the end of Diablo.)
- Skyrim (Harlo mods it up, though somehow doesn’t install the Macho Man mod? Lunacy!)
- Quantum Conundrum (Too similar to Portal? Harlo thinks so.)
- Chuck’s Game Vacation!
- Call of Juarez: Bound In Blood (Better than the original in every way!)
- Green Lantern (A well-done beat-em-up where Ryan Reynolds gets to play himself!)
- Homefront (You must retake the Tiger Direct. This is of utmost importance.)
- Mobile Corner!
- Plague, Inc. (Catch The Funk on this iOS disease simulator.)
- Zombie Gunship (Did you like the gunship levels in CoD4? Then get this!)
- Pocket Planes (The guys from Tiny Tower make a more complicated airport/airline simulator. Your mileage may vary.)
- Hot Shots Golf Vita (It’s really good until you hit a brick wall late in the game.)
- Baseball Stars 2 (From the SNK Collection on PSP. Subbing in your good guys to replace your bad guys is just good coaching.)
