This month we break down and talk about video games! All the latest and greatest video games like Injustice: Gods Among Us, Bioshock Infinite, Guacamelee!, Sleeping Dogs, Forza Horizon, the original Bioshock, classic pinball machines and… okay so only a couple of them are late and great. But we have fun talking and therefore you’ll have fun listening! SO HOP TO IT.

First half!

  • 1:20 Injustice: Gods Among Us (Terrible title, great fighting game! As if you expected different from the Mortal Kombat team. Harlo even likes Aquaman!)
  • 14:15 Bioshock Infinite (Buy the ticket, take the ride. Or something. Maki praises then rants then praises then rants about it. It’s bipolar, like the game!)
  • 38:44 Guacamelee (Harlo & Maki enjoy this PSN Metroidvania co-op game. Just remember that stereotypes can be racist, too!)
  • 46:38 Tomb Raider (Harlo doesn’t like it nearly as much as Chuck and Maki did. Just don’t go for the collectables and challenges!)
  • 1:00:08 Forza Horizon FreeLC (Chuck loves all these new free challenges, even if he didn’t buy all the new DLC cars.)

Second Half! (1:05:58)

  • 1:06:10 FTL: Faster Than Light (Harlo wins! He actually beat FTL! He also succeeded at not getting fired from work in the process!)
  • 1:09:45 Sleeping Dogs (Chuck makes a very specific analogy between this game and GTA4, specifically. It’s no Saints Row The Third, though!)
  • 1:19:15 Just Cause 2 PC Multiplayer Beta (Harlo plays Just Cause 2 with up to 5000 people. Holy crap.)
  • 1:23:58 Batman Arkham City GOTY PC (Just like the console version, you have to play the intro before you can unlock Batman. Also, it looks GOOD.)
  • 1:25:27 Tribes: Ascend (Harlo returns to the world of Tribes and loves it.)
  • 1:28:56 Civilization V (It’s back down that rabbithole for Harlo. We wax nostalgic about the Civ series for a bit. Just one more turn!)
  • 1:34:27 Bioshock (Chuck cracks 100,000 gamerscore with this current-gen “classic.” He doesn’t agree with the rest of the world about the story being the selling point, though.)
  • 1:4:37 Pinball Corner!
    • 1:45:11 Pinball Arcade PS3 (Genie and Big Shot entertain Harlo!)
    • 1:46:39 Pinball Arcade iOS (WHITEWATER IS IN PINBALL ARCADE.)
    • 1:49:00 Real Pinball Tables (Sopranos and Addams Family are played at a pool hall! Also, we jukebox trolled a pool hall.)
  • 1:52:58 Playstation Plus Corner!
    • 1:53:23 Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention (The game seems really cool until we all realize it’s a tactical strategy RPG. Then our enthusiasm drains. Bummer.)
    • 1:56:00 Resonance of Fate (Not a PS+ title, but Chuck won it and couldn’t play this style of game anymore, either.)
    • 1:59:50 Demons Souls (Harlo is tempted to go down the difficulty rabbithole.)
  • 2:01:43 Mobile Corner!
    • 2:01:57 Injustice: Gods Among Us iOS (We just want unlocks for the console version! Unfortunately you have to deal with a free to play card game Infinity Blade style thing with microtransactions. Hmmmmmmm.)
    • 2:07:15 Little Things (It’s a cute little picture hunt game. Just don’t bother trying to play it on your phone.)
    • 2:09:16 Rockpocalypse (The Rock in an Infinity Blade type game! What could go wrong? Oh, you didn’t get The Rock to record new phrases? And the controls suck? Oh.)

  • 2:15:17Jens wants to know what we think of Gearbox these days after some terrible recent games? (If it’s their property, thumbs up. If it’s anybody else’s license, forget it. If the next Borderlands is officially an MMO, we’re out, though.)
  • 2:26:46 Dave AKA Robop1g wants to know if we think deathmatch will ever return to the non-unlock style of Quake and older games? (Indies seem to get it, but the big guys don’t anymore. Tribes Ascend might be your closest thing.)
