NQcast35 – ‘Tank Buddies’ Show Notes

First half!

  • SSX (Maki gets a huge snowner and sticks it into a crevasssssse over this racing/trick reboot.)
  • Syndicate (It’s like Deux Ex without the story! Ok, not really. Chuck gets a box quote, though: “it’s a fine game!”)
  • Saints Row The Third DLC (Genkibowl and Gangstas in Space get covered, even though there are no bowls and it’s not in space. TRUTH IN ADVERTISING, LEARN IT PEOPLE.)
  • Battlefield 3 (BJ tanks out and finishes the game. Drive AND shoot? He’s a marvel of multitasking!)
  • Diablo 3 beta (Harlo discloses all he can disclose about our most-anticipated Action RPG lootfest. We also debate the pronunciation of “runes.”)
  • Playstation Vita (Maki buys one and we talk of user interfaces and weird apps and project managers and Lumines and Uncharted: Gimmicky Edition and even claw hands!)

Second Half! (1:29:43)

  • Borderlands 2 Trailer (FUCK YEAH. Signed, BJ.)
  • Alan Wake’s American Nightmare (Maki goes down the thermos rabbithole and enjoys both the original and the downloadable sequel. Chuck defends Alan Wake until the end of time!)
  • Unbound Saga (Extreme laziness leads to BJ playing this game. And hating it!)
  • Super Meat Boy (Maki beat it! He’s done with it! Honest!)
  • Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (Harlo journeys into Amalur… And journeys right back out when he realizes there are 100 hours more to that journey.)
  • Tales of Skyrim (Is Harlo done with Skyrim? Not quite! We learn of Icebreakers and Stormcloaks and Torfgar and Wal-Mart life insurance policies.)
  • Oblivion (Chuck learns that sleeping in strange caves and the sparkly life of a vampire kind of sucks. At least DLC fixes that instantly!)
  • Jet Set Radio Trailer (Maki doesn’t have to stab anyone to get the HD remake! Sega must listen to No Quarters and saves a life!)
  • Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection (BJ puts a hurt on a bunch of tables and wants to hurt Pin*Bot.)
  • Crackdown 2 (Maki gives people on Xbox Live an excuse to go back into Crackdown 2 for some reason. Also, rocket boots!)
  • Mobile Corner: Temple Run (Running from Attack The Block monsters shows how imprecise the touch controls can be.)
  • Mobile Corner: Puzzle Juice (Tetris + Scrabble = mind-jolting craziness. Also, grip changes.)
  • Ghost Trick (Walls of text interrupt what could be an interesting Rube Goldberg-like game.)
  • Mobile Corner: Zombies!!! (Windows Phone gets our dream iPad game. What the crap.)
  • Mobile Corner: Tiny Tower (Time vs Money valuation leads to discussion of evil free-to-play schemes, cloning in the mobile game industry and offensive Tiny Tower business names.)
  • Mobile Corner: Nyan Cat (It will drive people insane but it’s still awesome!)
