NQcast66 – Basic Game-anomics

First half!

  • 2:37 Far Cry 4 (Harlo, BJ and Chuck thrive in the open world zoo that is Far Cry 4. Until an eagle attacks them.)
  • 26:00 Grand Theft Auto 5 (BJ and Harlo determine that if you got your fill of GTA5 last generation you can probably skip this entry. Unless you really like cats.)
  • 34:00 WWE 2K15 (Harlo and Chuck grapple with the newest iteration of rasslin’ on consoles. They’re pretty pumped to get $100 worth of DLC! Actually, not.)
  • 43:21 Sunset Overdrive (Maki ages visibly while attempting to play this game. Spin more plates, sucker!)
  • 52:20 Telltale Game of Thrones: Episode 1 (Chuck makes some horrible choices while defending the honor of his barely-mentioned house. It’s definitely a Telltale game!)

Second Half! (1:03:15)

  • 1:03:44 Alien Isolation (Maki and Chuck return to Sevastopol and press L2 to hold their breath around 25 minutes since their last save. Then die and reload. Again.)
  • 1:14:10 The Evil Within (Chuck just can’t get into wading through rivers of blood with 2 bullets and a stick. And 5 matches.)
  • 1:19:50 Assassin’s Creed Unity (Maki checks boxes off a map and has extended adventures in Initiates and uPlay tech support.)
  • 1:28:50 Assassin’s Creed 1 & 2 (Chuck hops in the wayback machine and plays the AC series from the start and discovers the joy of beggars and haybales.)
  • 1:38:17 Binding of Isaac Rebirth (Maki continues his descent into grossness and matricide.)
  • 1:41:27 Urban Trial Freestyle (Maki says if you need a Trials fix on Vita, this game isn’t a bad idea! You probably already own it from PS Plus!)
  • 1:43:33 Convoy alpha (Harlo is already looking forward to this Mad Max meets FTL game.)
  • 1:44:36 Titan Attacks (Harlo and Chuck play what seems like Space Invaders at first but it shows a lot more depth as you go.)
  • 1:46:12 Resogun (New DLC and other patches have made this a different game. Go back and check it out!)
  • 1:47:30 Bayonetta 2 (Chuck has fun with Bayonetta, but sadly there’s a bit of ickiness that shows up in the camera angles and design, sadly.)
  • 1:51:25 Xbox Downloadable Corner!
    • 1:51:32 Geometry Wars 3 (Chuck says it’s more Geometry Wars, but that is NOT a bad thing!)
    • 1:52:55 Limbo on Xbox One (Maki enjoys playing through this game again to piece together the puzzles again. But it’s basically identical to the older versions.)
    • 1:56:57 Never Alone (Chuck basically sells us on the Inuit mythology based puzzle platformer that sounds really, really good.)
    • 2:02:44 Pinball Arcade on Xbox One (Farsight once again annoys us with no transfers from 360 purchases and terrible achievements and their terrible bitrate theme song.)
    • 2:06:38 Jackbox Party Pack (Playing a game on your console with your phone? Sign us up! This new pack of games for the You Don’t Know Jack guys is awesome. Buy it. Seriously.)
  • 2:12:14 Racing Corner!
    • 2:12:20 Forza Horizon 2 (Maki loves this sequel to a previous FOTY but Chuck has lost all his progress and his sad.)
    • 2:16:33 #DRIVECLUB (Chuck plays this great-looking game that’s still kinda sorta broken.)
    • 2:26:19 The Crew (Somehow Ubisoft stuffs map-unlocking towers into a racing game. And it’s not particularly good.)
  • 2:30:13 Mobile Corner!
    • 2:30:20 WWE Supercard (Maki makes it to Legendary and then they added a new tier above that.)
    • 2:34:11 Threes (It’s on Xbox One now! For $7! But at least you can snap it now!)
  • 2:36:58 Free Play Florida Pinball & Arcade Convention (We played a lot of pinball for real and Chuck won a tournament! And we still hate Gottlieb flippers.)
  • 2:58:07 E-mail Corner!
    • 2:58:22 Patryk wants to know our feelings on Polish studios putting out games.
    • 3:04:58 Jay from California makes the case for Hyrule Warriors as a FOTY and talks about Amiibos. Kinda.
