NQcast26 – Scrotality

This episode we laugh ourselves all the way through our reviews of XBLA’s Summer of Arcade, Dead to Rights: Retribution, Tornado Outbreak and many many more. Plus Borderlands 2 is a thing!

NQcast26 – ‘Scrotality’ Show Notes

Guest Starring SmarmyJerkface Chuck!

First half!

  • Borderlands 2 (We can confirm that it is a video game and it will eventually be available for purchase. Also, we can confirm that we will PLAY THE HELL OUT OF IT.)
  • Summer of Arcade Demolition!
    • Ms. Splosion Man (All The Single Ladies are kind of annoyed about the changes to this sequel.)
    • Bastion (Cool, but not $15 cool… We love the narrator, though.)
    • From Dust (We debate the pronunciation of “Chahi” and debate whether Pikmin love is enough to get us to buy this.)
    • Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet (“Oh hey, Tim Burton threw up on this.” And yeah, it’s a Metroidvania. Your mileage may vary!)
  • Dead Nation (It’s a pretty awesome game, especially for a free game!)
  • Dead To Rights: Retribution (Chuck teaches us the basics of Scrotalities and Dog Resurrection.)
  • Tornado Outbreak (It’s Katamari Tornado. Chuck attempts to talk us out of the game, despite how fun it sounds.)
  • Deadly Premonition (Harlo just can’t get into it, despite Chuck’s protests. It gets compared to the videotape in The Ring, if that gives you an idea.)

Second Half! (56:49)

  • Bayonetta (Harlo calls it Anime God of War. Or God of Whore. Also, he loves breakdancing & gunboots. Needless to say, he enjoyed it more than Maki.)
  • Army of Two (Maki & Harlo suffer terrible opponent AI yet still have fun with pimping their guns and dapping to war slaughter.)
  • Far Cry 2 (BJ kills the entire population of a planet in his quest to cure his malaria. The death toll may or may not include his NPC buddies.)
  • Mortal Kombat DLC (We talk new characters, including, um, Freddy Kreuger? Ok!)
  • Marvel Vs Capcom 3 (We rage against the Capcom machine with all their terrible re-release policies as Harlo starts playing the original version.)
  • Burnout Revenge (Maki is close to 100% in it, despite of its completely insane difficulty. Yup. This leads to talk of Trials HD.)
  • Burnout Paradise (We discuss Burnout Chains and other ridiculousness we have pulled off in that awesome game.)
  • X-Men Legends 1 & 2 (Harlo goes back in time to play the progenitors of Marvel Ultimate Alliance and finds out they still hold up!)
  • Dungeon Keeper 1 & 2 (Harlo’s trip to the past continues. Does he miss the Molyneux in 2?)
  • Stuntman Ignition (BJ, Chuck & Maki rage against the difficulty of this game and the awesome concept that it squanders. Apparently it’s better to be lucky than good.)
  • Velvet Assassin (Chuck needs to do more research before buying his games. Too much stealth!)

Value Picks! (2:06:27)

  • Beatles Rock Band (Maki calls it a high point for presentation in the music genre. We compare it to plenty of other terrible music games. Also, fuck the Duke of Gravity. That guy sucks.)
  • Bayonetta (Harlo loves it and thinks you will get $20 worth of fun out of it.)
  • Crackdown 2 (BJ says it’s no Crackdown but it’s pretty good for cheap.)
  • Wolfenstein (Chuck likes killing Nazis, and we love Raven games, in spite of the multiplayer achievements. And how can you not enjoy playing a guy named BJ Blaszkowitz?)

Third Half Bonus! (2:20:29)

  • TWITTER QUESTION (We discuss Mega Man and STDs. It’s a weird time.)
