NQcast56 – 7th Generation Heaven

7thgeneration

Perhaps once or twice over the next couple of weeks you’ll find yourself standing in line for a new video game console. Allow us to entertain you while you wait with our Games of the Generation Spectacular 2013!

The first half of this epic podcast includes talk about Beyond: Two Souls, Batman: Arkham Origins, Pokemon Y (Y? Because we like Pokemon!), Bioshock: Infinite and lots more. Then the second half arrives and we turn on the hyperbole machine to close out the Xbox 360/Playstation 3 era of video gaming. I don’t want to spoil any of our picks, but I will say this… if you’re not digging out your Rock Band instruments by the end of this episodeĀ then YOU HAVE NO SOUL.

Enjoy!

NQcast54 – Pin A Rose On Your Nose

Posted by: | Comments (3)

Between some sweet, sweet bookended Saints Row IV talk (spoiler free first, then spoilers abound in the segment after the outro music!), we find some time to discuss Divekick, Skullgirls, Gone Home, Plants vs Zombies 2, Ingress, Vita TV and tangents galore. It’s the best episode we’ve ever done in the month of September in the year 2013, so check it out!

Step one: Cut a hole in the map...

The Steam Summer Sale has concluded and we talk about our booty, yarr, including Torchlight 2, Shadowrun Returns, Organ Trail, Surgeon Simulator 2013, Prison Architect, Antichamber and others. Chuck attempts to find some fun with Grand Theft Auto 4 (spoiler: he doesn’t) and Maki gives both that and Saints Row the Third a whirl. And everyone’s favorite BJ returns to deliver some Tales From Ingress, which is a mobile game for a few relevant mobile devices.

The saddest episode of No Quarters features tears over The Last of Us and The Walking Dead, anger sets in with Fast & Furious: Showdown, and confusion reigns when Dragon Age II and State of Decay are played. Thankfully, joy arrives as Chuck rediscovers Animal Crossing on his shiny new Nintendo 3DS. Also, stay away from kids.

NQcast E3 2013 Spectacular Expo!

saintsrow4

It’s a bonus episode of No Quarters as we talk about all the drama, shenanigans and then eventually the games of E3 2013. Who won: Sony or Microsoft? Did Nintendo say anything interesting? Will the OUYA take over the gaming world? And when will someone put Razor Callahan in another Need For Speed game? All these questions will be answered in this very episode! (Note: Saints Row IV image unrelated to podcast, but SAINTS ROW IV OMG!)

perfection

It’s our 50th episode and we celebrate the milestone by talking about video games! But first, we break down all the non-news surrounding the reveal of the Xbox One, Chuck gets an OUYA in the mail and Maki buys a Nintendo 3DS XL. There’s games talk galore too with Poker Night 2, Fast & Furious Showdown, Star Trek, Neptune’s Pride 2: Triton, Dragon Age, EVE Online and lots more. Come listen to ourĀ merriment!

(Note: Audio quality degrades from 2:48 to 3:07. This was on our end, do not adjust your whatevers.)

While there are plenty of console games discussed this episode (including Tomb Raider, Mass Effect 3 Citadel, Far Cry 3, Dead Space 3, Defiance Beta and more), we continue our love/hate relationship with PC gaming. This month, Harlo re-enters the world and has more success than BJ did last month. Titles include SimCity, The Showdown Effect, FTL, Arma III, Planetside 2 and so many others. 3D gaming is pretty great too, but you gotta pay for it. You don’t have to pay for this podcast though, so get to listenin’.

If you happened to watch our live stream of the recording of this episode, you know that it was a giant mess of a show with technical snafus, pizza deliveries, code reds and the potential birth of a found footage movie as we all get murdered by phantom knockers. However, this audio recording features none of that since editing is a wonderful thing. In its place, we talk about Aliens: Colonial Marines, Dead Space 3, Lollipop Chainsaw, PC gaming, and the announcement of the Playstation 4. Come, join us.

NQcast44 – Wii Scream U Scream

Posted by: | Comments (3)

In our penultimate episode of 2012, the No Quarters crew decided to stop screwing around and finally talk about games. Call of Duty Black Ops 2 and The Walking Dead get a lot of time, as do Dishonored, Need for Speed Most Wanted, Borderlands 2, Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed and Playstation Plus. B-tier games like Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier and NeverDead make guest appearances. Also, 0% of the crew are interested in the Wii U and yet 25% of the crew bought one. Hear that exciting story and more coming up next (well, whenever you click play) on No Quarters!
